As many of you know we experienced the loss of a loved one in our community this week. At the yoga studio we are feeling it deeply. And that’s the thing about grief. We experience it at an individual and personal level and that grief is ours alone, but we also experience it as a collective, part of a community. That’s also where we feel the love and the support. I have never been more grateful for our sweet mountain community, for the outpouring of love, food, and offers of support. We live in an amazing place with amazing people.
In Sanskrit, there is a word, Kula which is loosely translated to mean community or tribe. A more in depth meaning includes those who come together to practice yoga with shared intentions. This week so many of you have created powerful intentions for Michelle, her children, her husband. Thank you for holding and creating space for them.
Before I close, I want to share something that Justine wrote, “…and so my practice is focusing on expressing love through asana. Yoga is prayer in motion. We can run breath, that unifying life force, through our bodies as the feeling of love & communion with That and then offer our practices outward for all beings.”
I will be back teaching next week and look forward to practicing with you.
Hug your loved ones tight.
