Hello Mountain Yogis!
Well, I think 2022 was a little easier than 2021…how about for you? Certainly a better year for the studio as the mask mandate lifted (isn’t it wild to think back to that?) and more and more people felt better about practicing in community. It was a long road to get here and heaps of gratitude to each and everyone of you who continued to support our community yoga studio.
Long time readers and students know that each year I like to chose a word for the coming year. It feels more attainable than a “resolution”, and easier to return to when I inevitably forget. This year, my word comes from the Yoga Sutras, more specifically the Niyamas. More than a word it is ‘Santosha’ which translates as contentment. I don’t know what the year has in store but I like thinking that everything will come back to being content.
Friday Links
At the turn of the year, I love reading all the round-ups of 2022. Here are some links for the best of the best…happy reading!
Podcasts: I really only listen to one podcast because I find the shear number available to be a little overwhelming. But for those that like to branch out, here is a list of the Best Podcasts of 2022.
Movies: I can’t speak to any of these as I saw exactly zero movies in 2022 but here are a couple of round-ups. Mashable, Rotten Tomatoes, Wired, NY Times (subscription needed).
Humor: I had some good laughs finding these for you…the best of McSweeney’s, Best of The Onion (so many!), best kids jokes, Best jokes of 2022: The New Yorker
Inspiration: Advice for relationships & work. 22 Golden Nuggets. Good news. What went right in 2022
Photography: My Modern Met (I just discovered this site and LOVE it), The Guardian, National Geographic,
Food: The best of food shows (we love Stanley Tucci’s Searching for Italy), food trends, food blogs (and of course, you already know my favorite)
And looking forward…Eleven ways to make the best of 2023
