Welcome to The Friday List, now hosted by Substack. There was something sweet and charming and “old school” about an email with a long BCC list that landed in your inbox each week. But it was also a bit clunky and many of you were asking me if it was okay to share with friends and family members or if it was supposed to be a “secret” member benefit. While I liked the idea of keeping it intimate, these days anything that helps a small business grow, should probably not be a secret.
The Friday List started over a year ago, when I felt bombarded with news and despair. I realized I needed to see and read things that were honest, uplifting and hopeful. I figured you probably needed the same and thus the Friday List was born. I look forward to creating the list each week and I love that so many of you check your email on Fridays to see if it has arrived yet. I am not quite sure what this will grow into but I am excited about the opportunities and possibilities for guest posts, yoga posture breakdowns, mantras and poems, teacher spotlights and musings, and of course every week The Friday List. And because no one loves lots of email, I promise no more than two emails per week.
So, welcome and thank you. Thank you for your continued and heartfelt support of our sweet hometown mountain yoga studio and our community. We wouldn’t be here without you.
xx
Friday Links July 8th:
The value of unstructured time.
We spent the morning fishing Tenkara, so peaceful.
A friend sent this video because we have so many wild roses around us. I don’t think I can make anything in the video but I do want to make this rose elixir.
I have been reading, Being Ram Dass, and learned about the Seva Foundation. What an amazing organization and true example of what Seva is.
That’s a wrap for this week. Have a wonderful weekend and I hope you get the opportunity to step outside for some fresh mountain air.
