Greetings from the beautiful San Luis Valley. We have arrived for our 5th annual Rest & Renew Retreat at Joyful Journey Hot Springs. I hope that you can join us on a future retreat. This edition of the Friday list is full of fun tips and recommendations in the Valley. Perhaps your travels will bring you down this way soon.
Friday Links
Where to stay: While I have not stayed here myself, my friend raves about it. This place also looks super groovy. If you like something a bit more luxurious, this might appeal to you.
Where to eat: We always stop for lunch here on our way down. But this is another favorite. While in Salida, this is the spot for lunch or dinner. And the coffee here is on point. There is no website to link to but the pies and baked treats at the 4th St. Diner & Bakery in Saguache are not to be missed
What to do: There is more than I could ever link in a short paragraph from hot springs (Mt. Princeton, Valley View, Hooper Pool, Cottonwood) to numerous trails for hiking and biking, fly fishing and rafting the Arkansas, visiting the Crestone stupa, to the UFO watchtower, and so much more.
Even Conde Nast Traveler has something to say about the San Luis Valley
Local activism: This is an issue that many in the area feel very passionate about.
And finally the true value of retreat
